Finding your way around
Where signing in lands you, what the organization home and the sidebar hold, the two switchers, search, and which organization pages now live at Bookbag SSO.
CodeBook has two kinds of page: an organization's pages, and a workspace's. The sidebar changes with them, and everything that is about the organization itself — its people, its chat, its files, its models — is managed once, at Bookbag SSO, for every product.
Where signing in lands you
After signing in you land on Organizations, the list of organizations your account belongs to. Pick one to open its home. If your account belongs to no organization yet, CodeBook sends you to Bookbag SSO to make or join one.
There is no page listing every workspace you can reach across organizations. An organization's home is the list of its workspaces; an old link to the retired all-workspaces page lands on Organizations instead.
The organization home
An organization's home shows:
- Its workspaces, as cards you can filter by name, with who can see each one and when it was made, and a Create a workspace tile.
- The concierge, a chat that sets things up for you (below).
- Members & access, a button that opens the organization's page at Bookbag SSO, where members, roles and invitations are managed.
Owners and administrators can rename the organization in place by clicking its name. The rename is forwarded to SSO, because the organization is SSO's.
The concierge
The chat on the organization home — and on a workspace's home — acts as you, through the same services the pages use. It can describe what exists, create a workspace or an empty factory, list and install built-in blueprints, put an installed agent on a station, write a story onto a workflow, and open a work order whose plan lines stay proposals until a person turns them into cards.
It can do nothing you could not do by hand: every write asks the same permission check the page would. Three things are never done on the model's word — installing a blueprint (it installs marketplace agents), giving an agent repository or tool access, and replacing whoever works a station. For those the chat shows a form the platform wrote, and only your press of its button, in the same conversation within a day, does it. A typed "yes" is just text. The chat never asks for a password or key; tool connections are added by a person on the factory's Connections page.
The concierge needs the organization to have a tool-capable model at SSO.
The sidebar
On an organization's pages the sidebar has one group, named CodeBook:
| Item | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Home | The organization home above |
| Workspaces | The organization's workspaces |
| Managed service | Grants between provider and customer organizations — see managed service mode |
| Provider console | The console a provider uses over the factories it has been granted |
| Settings | The organization's CodeBook settings: organization memory, approved web sources and CodeBook's own configuration |
| Create a workspace | The new-workspace dialog |
Inside a workspace the sidebar is the workspace's own:
- Workspace — Home, My Tasks, Agent marketplace and Settings.
- Pinned — the factories you pinned, when there are any.
- Sections — the workspace's factories, grouped in sections you can collapse. The + on a section adds a factory to it, and the round + under the switcher adds a section; reordering and renaming them is done in the workspace's settings, under Sidebar.
A workspace's home also has a button for a new factory. The New factory dialog starts with either One workflow (empty, or from a template) or A factory blueprint or a file — see choosing a blueprint.
Two switchers
The workspace switcher at the top shows the workspace you are in, or All workspaces when you are on an organization's pages. It lists the current organization's workspaces only, with All workspaces (the organization's list) and Create a workspace below them.
The organization switcher sits at the bottom of the sidebar, on every page, with your role in each organization. All organizations opens the Organizations list; Manage organizations opens Bookbag SSO, where organizations are created.
Search
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux), or / when you are not typing in a field, anywhere in the app.
The dialog jumps to places: cards in the workflow you are looking at, factories you visited recently, every factory and workspace you can reach, and a few destinations such as workspace home and settings. Each result names its context — the column, the factory, the workspace — so two cards with the same title can be told apart. A group shows eight results and offers Show all for the rest. Use the arrow keys to move, Enter to open and Escape to close.
Inside a workspace, Search your work asks the server instead. It searches cards and card comments in this factory, this workspace or all the workspaces you have joined, only across what you may read, and says what it covered and what it could not read. It never shows a total count, because a total would count rows you may not be allowed to know exist.
Long dropdowns are searchable
A dropdown whose options grow with your data — agents, people, runtimes, factories, workflows, stations across workflows, repositories, models, knowledge sources, versions — has a search box, and each option carries a line of context such as the workflow a station belongs to. Short fixed lists are ordinary dropdowns.
What moved to Bookbag SSO
An organization's members, roles and invitations, its chat, its files and storage, and its AI settings (managed models or its own keys) are no longer pages in CodeBook. They are managed at Bookbag SSO, once, for every Bookbag product:
- Members & access on the organization home, and Manage organizations in the organization switcher, open SSO.
- The organization's chat is the chat bubble in the corner of the app; its conversations are stored at SSO.
- Your token allowance is shown in the account menu, and storage use under the organization switcher on organization pages; both figures are SSO's.
