The factory setup checklist
See what your factory has configured, what is missing, and where to finish each setup step.
Open a factory's Overview and look for Getting started. The checklist reads the factory's current settings and work history. Each unfinished step explains what is missing and links to the relevant panel; you do not tick the boxes yourself.
The six required steps
| Step | What the checklist checks |
|---|---|
| Create a workflow with stations | At least one workflow has two or more stations. |
| Connect a repository | A workflow has an attached repository with a usable connection. A repository that is attached but unavailable remains unfinished. |
| Put agents on the stations | At least one working station has an agent. The detail also counts stations worked by people, crews or outside runtimes. This does not require every station to have an agent. |
| Have a model that answers | Bookbag SSO offers an active, tool-capable model for the organization. This checks model availability; opening the checklist does not make a paid test call. |
| Add a scorer | The factory has a scorer. The detail says how many are active, so a paused scorer is visible. |
| Finish the first card | The factory has a completed agent run or a merged pull request linked to a card. Read the detail: a completed run alone is not proof of a merged release. |
Start with a workflow, staff its stations, then connect the repository and model the work needs. Add a scorer before running a representative first task so you can inspect both the work and its measured quality.
Worth doing
Four additional steps help you operate the factory:
- Give the models a price so Spending can show money beside tokens.
- Register a command runner for tests, builds and browser checks. A registered runner may still need to start and check in; the detail says so.
- Decide who merges in Policies & budgets. Saving the policy records your choice; the checklist does not change it for you.
- Talk to the manager from the board, or connect a manager channel. See manager conversations and settings.
These steps contribute to the displayed count out of ten, but the six required steps determine whether the checklist is complete.
Hide or reopen it
Once the required steps are complete, Hide dismisses the checklist for this factory in this browser. The Overview's Getting started link opens it again. An unfinished checklist stays visible, including if a required configuration later becomes unavailable.
The checklist is a setup aid. Use the Trust scorecard and the evidence on actual cards to decide whether the factory is performing well.
